Japanese Mousetrap

I just found this brilliant youtube video over at Iain’s blog. All Idents for a Japanese program seemingly called Pythagoraswitch, that is so essentially japanese, it made me think Mousetrap must have been a japanese invention. However it was invented by Marvin Glass, and inspired by Rube Goldberg’s machines - that “perform a simple task in a complex way.”

Brilliant animation - all done on a whiteboard

The Carlton Dance

I just tried to do this in my living room. Its really difficult!

Happy Turkey Day!

Today is the day to celebrate the occassion in 1621 when a bunch of pilgrams were fed a jolly good meal by the Native American Indians. The pilgrams then went on to slaughter and commit genocide upon the American indian race. I guess they couldn’t read.

However, its a tradition. And traditions are easy to follow. So every year I travel back to newcastle where my mum puts on a banquet for all her friends and family. The rule is, everyone brings a dish, and due to the variety of friends, its a very multi-culteral and multi-flavoural event. This year, I’m bringing 2 1/2 swedes and 1/2 italian.
Photo’s to come.
